Residents, staff and guests joined together at Turnberry Court extra care scheme in Greenford earlier this month to celebrate its “outstanding” rating from inspectors.
Tea and cake were shared to mark the fantastic achievement, which followed a visit from Care Quality Commission inspectors in December. Turnberry Court is the first extra care scheme in London and the fourth in the country to have been awarded the CQC’s highest rating.
Inspectors found residents, made up of vulnerable older people and those with a disability, are treated with “the utmost dignity, respect and kindness” and had their views taken into account on everything from the running of the scheme to the activity schedule.
Turnberry Court is run by Notting Hill Pathways, the care and support arm of NHH, and commissioned by Ealing Council.
Speaking at the event, resident Ann Griffith said: “I want to thank everyone at Turnberry Court who helped to get me here and helps me every day.”
Linda Strong, Assistant Director of Notting Hill Pathways, said: “To receive a rating of outstanding from the CQC is a massive achievement and real testament to the hard work and care put in by all of our staff at Turnberry Court.
“We pride ourselves on providing a safe, warm and inclusive environment for all of our extra care residents and I am thrilled that those efforts have been reflected in the inspectors’ report.”
Councillor Hitesh Tailor, Cabinet Member for Health and Adults’ Services at Ealing Council, said: “I am very pleased that the inspectors found Turnberry Court to be an outstanding example of care. The council works hard to ensure that those we commission provide top rate services for older vulnerable residents. Our close and effective partnership with Notting Hill Housing Group is delivering an excellent result for the residents.”
