Each year our dedicated residents put together an annual report celebrating their achievements during the past 12 months, which has been published today.
This year’s has been extra special, as it is the first year of our new resident involvement model, which provides new opportunities to feed back on the work we do, scrutinise services and work with us to improve residents’ experience.
The report celebrates the 199 new faces who have got involved, joining our existing group of engaged and committed tenants and leaseholders. Over the year 495 residents have been involved in 61 different activities, which incudes policy reviews, focus groups, procurement exercises or longer-term projects.
The report has also focused on:
- Our new resident forum, which connects residents’ experiences to our board, recommends service improvement projects and provides oversight of our engagement programme
- How were working to celebrate diversity, improve health and wellbeing and improving policies
- Specific projects such as DIY sessions at Bolney Meadow and supporting us to improve our cleaning and gardening services
- The schedule for regional resident meetings over the next year
- Initiatives planned for the year ahead, relating to sustainability, learning new skills and the procurement of a new repairs contractor
Speaking in her welcome to the report, resident board member Emma-Louise Stewart, who is also chair of the resident forum, said: “It has been a pleasure to be involved with so many residents who have such passion and dedication, using their skills and experiences to support the organisation to resolve issues, influence improvements and ensure residents are at the forefront of all decision making.
“We are at the beginning of a new journey, and I believe we are putting robust processes in place to be successful in our roles. I look forward to engaging with as many residents as possible.”
