Join the Sustainability Advisory Group

Have a passion for sustainability and addressing climate change? You could gain new skills and experience by becoming a member of our sustainability advisory group. Join other Notting Hill Genesis residents to help shape our future sustainability plans and policies and review progress.

Launching in 2024, the group will provide a forum for knowledge sharing - ensuring resident needs and priorities are considered in our sustainability strategy.

If you are interested in taking part, please complete this form by 12 January 2024.

Diversity is at the heart of sustainability

We’re looking for a range of individuals who bring a rich mix of experiences and perspectives. We’re committed to being fair and inclusive – if you have any additional support needs, please let us know in the registration form.

Please note, there are only a limited number of spaces available in the group. We will let you know whether you have secured a space by the beginning of February.

By completing this form, you are giving consent for Notting Hill Genesis to hold on file the personal data you submit and use only for the purposes of resident involvement activities. Your personal data will not be shared with external agencies or third parties without your consent and all documents will be held in line with our retention schedule available on our website.

What will the group do?

Working with NHG staff the group will:

  • Provide valuable suggestions and recommendations to help shape our sustainability action plans
  • Offer feedback on sustainability policies and projects that will impact Notting Hill Genesis residents. For example, how we engage with residents during home energy improvements or when making enhancements to green spaces.
  • Bring diverse views and perspectives to advocate for the interests of all residents

What’s in it for you?

We want residents to gain valuable experience to take into the world beyond NHG. Through the group you can:

  • Develop leadership skills, boost your CV and develop your sustainability knowledge
  • Grow your network and connections with other residents
  • Help make change possible – based on needs and priorities of communities we work in
  • Learn from other experiences and share your own

Key competencies

All residents can apply, and previous sustainability knowledge and experience isn’t necessary.  However please do highlight any of the following in your application:

  • Your interest in sustainability
  • Any relevant skills or experiences
  • Your enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference
  • Your ability to work with others / respect views

What is the commitment?

Residents are expected to attend four meetings over the course of a year (every two to three months). Ideally, group members will attend the meetings face-to-face but we will facilitate attendance via video call where necessary. The group is expected to run for two years.

The first meeting will take place in February or March.

Members of this group can expect to receive cover for the cost of any travel and/or care expenses  and will receive a thank you vouchers for your time and commitment

We will do our best to schedule meetings at times/dates that are convenient for the majority of the group.
