We will soon be opening our community culture fund for applications to help residents celebrate and promote diversity, equality and inclusion in their communities.
How does it work?
Residents can apply for up to £250 to run a project or event that brings people together and strengthens community spirit. In total, £1,000 is available each quarter. The fund is designed to make applying for monetary support simple and accessible with no lengthy forms or complicated processes.
Your project could be:
- A gardening project to brighten shared spaces
- A wellbeing activity for the community
- A welcome event to help new neighbours connect
All you need to do to apply for support for your community event is go to the application page on our website between Wednesday 1 July and Friday 31 July and fill out a short form (the form will be available from 1 July onwards). Details of what to include on your application can be found there.
Below are just a couple of the events we’ve previously funded.
In December, residents at Clive Lloyd House came together to celebrate Christmas with a community dinner funded by the community culture fund.
The event was well attended, with residents enjoying food and music alongside friends and family members. It created a warm, inclusive atmosphere and strengthened community connections.
In July last year, residents at St Martins estate attended a vegetable and herb growing workshop from Incredible Edible followed by a community planting session at their communal gardens.
The session meant residents met their neighbours in a social setting and learned new skills together.
