Warmer, cheaper, healthier homes, for you – our residents
We want your home energy improvements to be as easy as possible for you, and for you to be able to make the most of the benefits these valuable works will bring. To ensure we meet your needs, we’ve worked with our residents to commit to four key standards.
Keeping you informed with clear, concise and consistent communication:
- We will provide you a key point of contact.
- We will provide timescales of the expected duration of works so you will know what will happen and when.
- We will agree with you about any expectations of input and commitments – for example taking time off work or being at home, preparation for works such as making space.
- Throughout, we will keep you informed and updated of any changes to the improvement plan such as timescales or type of work.
- We will provide non-technical information at different stages in the process in a variety of formats such as websites, brochure, letters, and videos.
- We will record, and whenever possible contact you, using your preferred methods of communication (email, letter, phone, text, personal visit, My Account etc).
Creating an individual plan for you and your home:
- Before works start, we will have a conversation to consider and capture any concerns you have about the work.
- This could include things like health needs, young children, carer needs, pets, specialist equipment in the home and time required to take-off work.
- Where possible, we will give you clear, fair and realistic options and choice around these works – explaining pros and cons with clear explanations.
Offering a package of support to you before, during and after the works:
- We will explore options to support you, for example, if you need help moving personal belongings before works take place.
- We will provide support once works are completed – including clear and accessible information about works, any new equipment installed and how it works.
- We will support you to benefit from improvements, by demonstrating new equipment, and providing easy-to-understand manuals.
Ensuring quality of works:
- We will provide you with information about the works and what good quality to looks like.
- We will support you to raise concerns about contractor behaviour or the quality of works.
- A Notting Hill Genesis representative will carry out an independent check of works once completed, and ensure you're happy with your new improvements and that work is finished to a good standard.
