Startup School for Seniors is an online course, delivered remotely over a two-week or eight-week programme, to support those over 50 to take their first steps towards being self-employed.
This course is for those who:
• have a passion or idea they would like to turn into a business
• have been made redundant or are currently unemployed and considering their next step
• want to gain the skills necessary to get a new business off the ground
• would benefit from the support of others
The programme features over 30 hours of pre-recorded videos, workbooks and self-assessment tools. The course covers various topics to help people start their own business, such as writing a business plan, the legal side of setting up a business and knowing your competition, pricing, and strategy. There is a core programme and programmes focused on creative start-ups.
