We will support all of our employees in being the best they can be and providing them with professional support and opportunities required to comply with the standard, specifically we will:

  • Ensure employees have the skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours required for their role

  • Provide appropriate induction, mandatory training, role-specific learning and continuing professional development opportunities

  • Support colleagues to obtain and maintain professional qualifications where required

  • Regularly review our colleagues’ performance, competence and development needs through supervision and appraisal processes

  • Address performance or competence concerns promptly and fairly

  • Maintain appropriate records of training, qualifications and professional development

Contractors and Service Providers

Where services are delivered on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to ensure that contractors and service providers employ appropriately skilled and competent individuals who meet our expectations for service quality and professional conduct.

Resident Involvement

We value the views of our residents and will provide opportunities for them to influence and scrutinise our approach to colleague competence and conduct. Resident feedback, complaints, compliments and engagement activities help us shape learning, development and service improvement priorities.
