Spending a wonderful summer with our residents

Our estates have thrived this summer with lively events and activities, offering residents fun and exciting way to come together.

At Lithos Road in north London we brought residents together for a fun day. The kids got to enjoy a bouncy castle and a host of children’s games, a raffle, and more. We’ve already seen the difference this has made with children playing in the once-abandoned communal gardens and a warm shift in the tone of resident interactions. Residents are also keen to hold more events in future.

Down at Oak Square in Brixton, residents enjoyed a lively block party organised by the estate team. Despite the challenges posed by ongoing scaffolding and long-term issues, the party was a source of hope and joy. Residents tucked into a barbecue, rustic pizzas and creamy gelato while enjoying music, face painting and games for all ages. By evening, the atmosphere was electric, with a third of the estate participating in the Candy dance to end the celebrations - a testament to the event's resounding success. The gratitude expressed by residents has amazed the team, with plans for future gatherings already underway.

Meanwhile, over at Drayton Green in Ealing, we’ve been busy creating community engagement through new monthly drop-in sessions ‘Open House @ The Green’. This initiative offers residents a welcoming space to meet with their estate manager, housing officers and repairs team, creating a platform for open dialogue and support. The success of these sessions has been remarkable, with growing attendance each month. To build on this, we're planning a Skip Day and Halloween event, promising even more opportunities for residents to come together and make memories.

These events highlight the positive impact that estate staff's work can have on residents, building better relationships and encouraging engagement, which ultimately helps make the estates a better and more enjoyable place for everyone.
