We have appointed Victor da Cunha as our new Chief Customer Officer, who will be central to our work to become a more resident-focussed organisation and build a trusted and trusting partnership with you.
This is a key milestone in our transformation journey and Victor will play a meaningful tole in supporting our return to compliance, especially around the consumer standards rating – the areas of our work that most impacts residents.
With more than three decades of experience in social housing, Victor is currently CEO of Curo, a housing association in the South West of England, managing over 14,000 homes. Since 2011, he has led the transformation and improvement journey of Curo from regulatory supervision 14 years ago, through a group restructure and integration, to an organisation delivering high quality outcomes for customers and an inspection judgement in July 2025 by the Regulator of Social Housing which included the highest grade 1 judgement for consumer standards. He is also a Board member of the National Housing Federation and chair of its national Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Housing Group, where he has helped support the introduction of several sector-wide EDI initiatives including the Chair’s Challenge for greater diversity at board level.
Joining as CCO following a competitive selection process, Victor will be part of a re-energised leadership team, working collectively to transform NHG as a resident-focussed organisation making a significant contribution to the UK’s housing crisis. Today’s announcement follows the arrival of Tabitha Kassem in April 2025 as Chief Governance and Risk Officer, and Craig Wilcockson in December 2024 as Chief People Officer.
Victor da Cunha said: “I am joining Notting Hill Genesis at an important and exciting time. My priority will be to work on building a truly trusted partnership with residents: a partnership that ensures that residents’ voices are not just heard, but are the driving force behind our service improvements.
“This means harnessing colleagues’ collective efforts to deliver proactive, consistent, and reliable services which remain flexible to respond to the changing needs of residents. From repairs, tenancy management, maintenance to community engagement, this will be our aim.
“Delivering this will see NHG fulfil our purpose - to make a meaningful contribution to the UK’s housing crisis, and to behave fairly and responsibly in everything we do. I am excited by this opportunity and to work alongside our colleagues and residents to bring real change.”
Patrick Franco, CEO of Notting Hill Genesis, added: “We have made important progress in our transformation journey at Notting Hill Genesis, but we have more to do. I am thrilled that Vic will be joining us, bringing his track record of placing customers at the heart of service delivery, and his passion for what we can achieve as a truly resident-focussed housing association.”
Victor da Cunha will take up his post in March 2026. Chyrel Brown will continue as Interim Chief Customer Officer until that time.
