As we approach the cold winter months now is the perfect time to check your gas boiler and heating system. If you find a fault with your central heating, report it now and we can fix it before the temperatures really drop.
Most boilers contain moving parts, especially combi type boilers. These parts aren’t in use when the boiler is providing hot water only. We recommend turning your boiler on now and ensure all radiators get hot and hot water is provided.
This means you’ll be ready for that first cold spell and not have the inconvenience of having to wait for an appointment during a very busy time for our gas technicians.
If there’s a problem, call your assigned heating contractor using the below:
- K&T – call centre 0208 269 4500 or WhatsApp 07816 125 969
- Watret – call centre 0203 757 6228
- BSW – call centre 0800 953 1229
Another major problem you can face over the winter months is frozen pipes. Frozen pipes can cause considerable damage, so if this happens you should defrost them slowly. If you can find the blockage, then you can cover that section of pipe with hot towels, replacing them frequently as they cool, or use a hot water bottle. If a pipe bursts after it has frozen, shut off the water supply and contact us immediately.
