Earlier this month, the resident engagement and involvement team celebrated International Youth Day, in the Venture Centre near Ladbroke Grove.

International Youth Day is held each year on the 12 August. It celebrates the qualities of young people and recognises the challenges that today's youth can face.
The worldwide recognition day began in 2000 and is organised by the United Nations to celebrate the contribution that young people make in education, employment, conflict resolution and social justice to name a few.
Our event was planned as an opportunity to hear directly from young people about their experiences of being Notting Hill Genesis residents, what they expected from us as their landlord and their aspirations for the future. We committed to celebrate the important contributions of young people, empower them, and recognise that young people today will be our future residents tomorrow.
The day was filled with excitement from both the staff members and the young people involved.
Our team offered a programme of activities including careers advice/CV workshop, a young inspirational speaker, free barber haircuts, boxing, dance and basketball training.

A great day was had by all, and we are now looking forward to continuing to work with our young residents. Get in touch if you are in your teens or early twenties and want to get involved.
