This dedicated section is where you can find the latest information on the Mildmay scheme in Tower Hamlets.

We’re letting residents and home owners know that the original structural engineers for Mildmay have identified potential issues with the design of Blacklock Court (Block C) and an area of Giles Court and Clements Court (Block B) this is shown on the plan below.

These potential issues were flagged in a desk-based review and relate to the original structural design of the Mildmay scheme, they are not based on any recorded concerns regarding the performance or actual condition of the buildings.

The original structural engineers have provided assurance that they have not identified anything at this stage that poses a risk to residents and this has been confirmed by our own independent structural engineers.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

If you can't find the answer to your question in the FAQs, please use the form below to get in touch. We're continuing to gather more information and will provide another update by mid-August.

The structural engineers have confirmed that no potential structural issues have been identified in Burbage Court (shown as Block D on the plan), some homes in Giles Court (Block A) and Bailey Court (Block G).

The original structural engineers have not yet assessed Appold Court & Godfrey Place (Block E on the plan) yet. We at NHG have already instructed an independent structural assessment for this building and the desktop assessment is progressing but not yet complete. We will update on this as soon as we have more information.

Resident safety remains our number one priority and we will continue to prioritise this. Please be assured if there is any suggestion of risk to residents, we will be in touch and take all necessary precautionary action as quickly as possible.

The independent structural engineers will undertake some further investigations and to provide further assurance we are also planning to undertake some structural assessments of our own across all blocks on the development.  These will extend beyond areas of potential concern raised by the original structural engineers and will look at the actual condition of all buildings.

The investigations will include visual inspections of the exterior, communal areas and inside a small number of homes.  There are no plans for any invasive inspections at the current time.  If we would like access into your home we will contact you directly.

We appreciate this news may be concerning, but we wanted to ensure that we are open with you and sharing information about matters that may affect your home. We understand you may have questions and we do want to hear them, so you can ask these using the form below.

We don’t have all the answers just yet, but we are in the process of getting them and are committed to updating you again by mid-August.
