GoTrain - Grays is funded by the European Social Fund and Education and Skills Funding Agency to provide pre-employment support to people in Thurrock who are economically inactive and on benefit. Their course ranges from:
1. Foundational IT
2. Life Skills
3. Confidence Building
4. Vocational skills like hospitality, customer service and retail
4. Functional Skills: literacy and numeracy etc
Upon completion of your 6 weeks pre-employment course you will receive Android tablet, touch screen android phone and fitness tracker with heart rate monitor.
We support adults to improve their English, Maths and ICT skills. This gives our students the confidence and knowledge to help them succeed and strengthens their place in the community. We offer a wide range of Functional Skills courses and intensive literacy and numeracy support. Our courses run three times a year, in the autumn, spring and summer terms.
Employment, education and training support (a variety of programmes). Including help gettings over 50s back in work, ESOL, and parents claiming HB into work or higher skilled, more frequent work.
A great place to start for all skills and training support needs, from IT, Literacy and job training to support for getting into work, or getting batter paid employment. National Careers Service advisers will provide you with information, advice and guidance, and if a face to face appointment is needed you will be put through to the London regional bookings team for an appointment local to where you live. Interpreters are available and will be able to conference call with you and the advisor.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses are English language classes designed for people whose first language is not English. The courses are designed to help you cope with everyday life, such as helping you with your children, communicating with other people and services and helping you to get a job. Courses are free or low-cost depending on individual circumstances, course fee may apply.
