Our world is experiencing environmental challenges that will impact us all, as well as the services we provide. Notting Hill Genesis needs to take action to reduce our carbon emissions and prepare our homes and services for climate change.
Simultaneously, there are opportunities to improve the quality and comfort of our homes by making them more energy efficient. In the context of high energy bills, it is important that we do this in a way which is fair and inclusive.
In 2022, we will be creating a new sustainability strategy that will outline our response to the climate crisis and commitments to address a range of sustainability issues.
We would like residents to be part of shaping this strategy, by letting us know what environmental and sustainability issues are important to you and what steps we should take to address them.
Get involved
To support this, we are inviting residents aged 18 and over to two short workshops planned for late April. The workshops will be an opportunity for you to discuss a number of environmental themes, such as home energy improvements and green spaces, to help shape our sustainability strategy.
If you would like to take part in these workshops, please contact involvement@nhg.org.uk by Friday 18 March.
We would like to hear from a range of residents with different backgrounds and experience. Upon receiving your expression of interest, we will send you a form to fill out. A mixed group of residents will then be selected from those who respond.
While the workshop will have limited participants to allow more in-depth conversations, we would like all residents to have the opportunity to feed into the creation of the sustainability strategy.
You can offer your thoughts on the priorities for the strategy by responding to our short survey here. The survey will be open for two weeks, closing on Monday 14 March. Those who do take part in the survey will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £50 shopping vouchers.
All answers will be strictly confidential and collected in line with our privacy policy and GDPR Regulations.
The results of the survey will be presented to the workshop groups, who will use them to navigate their workshop discussions and develop recommendations for the sustainability strategy.
