Residents at Factory Quarter have come together with their neighbours and our staff to plant 6,000 spring bulbs throughout the development.
We started at 10am, meeting in the community hub with excellent coffee provided by The Village, who are running a pop-up in the hub. John, who is one of the residents at Factory Quarter, gave us a brief with tips on planting and what should be planted where. He has led on gardening initiatives across the scheme to make the entire place look amazing for everyone who lives there or visits.
With such a good turnout of staff, residents from across the three tenures, and neighbours who have been drawn in by the new community hub, we completed our mission in just three hours.
This was the second year of bulb planting. Last year the courtyard areas were planted up and we saw them in full bloom earlier this year.
This year’s bulbs were purchased with the help of the love where you live fund.
The morning was hard work but also such fun and a great way to get to know residents, doing something that will add value to the entire neighbourhood for years to come. Thank you to all those who attended.
