Today we’ve published our annual equality, diversity and inclusion (ED and I) report.
During 2022/23, involved residents have influenced our approach to defects, damp and mould, our voids standard and sustainability. We have benefited from the lived experience of specific groups too, with our resident health and disability panel ensuring those with disabilities are always considered and our LGBTQ+ residents scrutinising policies and guidelines, such as those on contractor behaviour and hate incidents.
This year’s report reflects on our achievements and shares key data that shows both our progress and areas for improvement. With colleagues we have made great strides over the past 12 months, having earned a silver award from Stonewall and been named one of their top 100 employers in the UK. We were also recognised by Investors in People who this year awarded us a silver accreditation for wellbeing, reflecting our efforts to support the social, physical and psychological wellbeing of colleagues.
Our ED&I action plan for 2023/24 focuses on both residents and staff. We are positive about diversity and are proud to be part of the Change the Race Ratio campaign, a Disability Confident Employer, Stonewall Diversity Champion and signatories to several fantastic pledges including Firm Foundations, the Pregnancy Loss pledge, G15 Diversity Pledge and Harry’s Pledge supporting a range of groups including young people and carers.
We look forward to collaborating even more with those living in our homes throughout 2023.
I have been at Notting Hill Genesis for less than six months, but I have been struck by the commitment to being an inclusive and diverse organisation and the determination at all levels to ensure everyone is treated equally regardless of their background.
