Three Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) buildings will be available to view by the general public in September as part of Open House London.
Cheviot Gardens (pictured below) in Lambeth, Queen’s Court in Southwark and the Isokon Building in Hampstead can all be visited on the 21 and 22 September.
It is the second year that NHG is taking part in the event that showcases some of London’s most impressive architecture, much of which is not usually open to the public.
Cheviot Gardens provides state-of-the-art extra care housing for older people in West Norwood, Lambeth. Completed in 2016, it was a transformed from a dated, unsuitable sheltered housing scheme to one with beautiful apartments, lovely gardens, a café and restaurant and other cutting edge support facilities. Cheviot Gardens residents are proud of their home and will even be assisting with tours during the Open House London weekend.
Queen’s Court in Bermondsey, Southwark, offers 51 homes arranged over five storeys arranged around an attractive courtyard. Built in 2016, the design incorporates a Grade II listed war memorial which was restored following discussions with English Heritage, local interest groups, MPs and army representations, alongside residents, amenity groups and societies.
NHG is the freeholder for the modernist Isokon Building (pictured below), a Grade I listed block of 32 flats in Belsize Park, Hampstead. It was built in 1934 and renovated in 2005, and the building even has its own museum dedicated to the famous residents and architects who once lived there.

Open House allows us to open up our buildings and communities to the wider public, whether they are for tenants, leaseholders, older people requiring extra care or even our stunning Isokon building, which we saved from ruin to create shared ownership housing for key workers.’
