New board member brings resident voice to the top table

Notting Hill Genesis resident Emma-Louise Stewart has joined our group board as a non-executive director, ensuring customer voices are represented at the most senior levels in our organisation.

In common with our other non-executive directors, Emma-Louise brings a wealth of experience to support our commitment to work better together for our residents, providing safe, warm and comfortable homes where they can live their lives well.

Emma-Louise has been a resident with Notting Hill Genesis for more than 25 years and has an extensive career in business development and events management.

Returning to the workforce after maternity leave with twins, Emma-Louise is currently developing an exciting new educational project bringing a wealth of history and culture to schools.

Previously, she ran her own business offering a flexible space and business development in the heart of her community, helping businesses and local people to develop and progress through interaction. Earlier roles included events and culture for London Bridge Business Improvement District, chief executive officer of Brixton Business Improvement District, and projects with High Trees Community Development Trust, all alongside running her own business development consultancy.

Notting Hill Genesis chair Ian Ellis said: “Emma-Louise’s passion for growing businesses, culture and commercial improvement make her an excellent addition to our group board. Her experience as one of our residents and as a strong advocate for local neighbourhoods will also be invaluable in providing strategic direction and oversight of our work to deliver the ambitions of our new Better Together strategy.

“I also want to take this opportunity to thank Stephen Bitti, who Emma-Louise replaces. Stephen was a resident member on our group board from the creation of Notting Hill Genesis in 2018 and played a significant role in our evolution towards becoming an organisation that truly puts our residents first.”

Emma added: “I am looking forward to using my experience and knowledge to help Notting Hill Genesis develop and improve their understanding of their tenants. I strongly believe in community, sustainability, and equal opportunities for all people and am confident that I can make a real impact as a resident member on the group board.”
