Get on the housing ladder with London Living Rent

Do you dream of getting a foot on the housing ladder but are unable to save for a deposit while paying rent? London Living Rent at Notting Hill Genesis could be the answer.

London Living Rent, a housing scheme by the Greater London Authority that will offer you discounted rents on the basis you will save up your deposit to buy a home.

To be eligible, your household income must be £60,000 a year or lower, but meet a minimum income cap. You also need to be currently renting in London and unable to buy a home, including via shared ownership, in the local area.

Successful applicants are taken through a process to look at whether they are already able to purchase a home and if not, how much they would need to save to do so.

If you qualify for London Living Rent you will be given a three-year tenancy on a reduced rent, during which time you will be expected to save enough for a deposit. It means that at the end of the three-year term, you could be in a position to buy the home through shared ownership.

Alongside our current schemes at Gallions Point, Newham and Zinnia Apartments, Brent, we have further schemes coming across throughout 2021. These include Royal Wharf and Woolwich Reach in Newham and Oaklands Rise in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Traders Quarter at Royal Wharf, Newham, will have studios, one, two and three bed homes across three buildings close to the docks.

As well as the stunning surroundings, all homes are light and bright with open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas and a balcony. The kitchens have fully integrated appliances including a dishwasher and fridge-freezer, while some bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.

They will be available from the end of February.

From late spring, one and two bed apartments will be available at Oaklands Rise, near Willesden Junction, which are close to Crossrail and HS2 and offer balconies with views across London and fully fitted kitchens.

Towards the end of 2021, Woolwich Reach in Newham, which will offer studios, one, two and three bed homes with balconies close to the DLR, Woolwich Ferry and Crossrail.

There are further schemes planned for 2022/23
