Fifty social homes bought in heart of Islington

We have bought more than 50 affordable homes right in the heart of Islington.

All the households, who transferred from fellow housing association Places for People last month, are paying a social rent.

We have been engaging with residents over the past few weeks to ensure they know about Notting Hill Genesis, how we work and what we stand for.

Some of the residents visited our Islington head office to meet their housing teams in advance of becoming our tenants.

They were pleased to find out more about our housing model, which sees every household allocated a dedicated local officer who can support them with their tenancy, backed up by our My Account self-serve platform and 24-hour customer service centre. Any concerns raised by the residents were noted by the housing team and are being worked on.

Mark Vaughan, group director of housing, said: “We are always proud to provide social housing to those who need it, and when an opportunity arises in Central London, we are especially keen to make the most of it.

“We know how keen people are to live in Islington, but that it is unaffordable to so many. It is great to add these homes to our portfolio and welcome our new residents.”
