Double award for leasehold team

Our leasehold team have been named team of the year at the National Leasehold Group awards, with one officer also picking up the “rising star” prize.

We were one of three nominations for the team award, alongside A2 Dominion, Stonewater and Southwark Council.

Property management officer Aine Short was also picked from a four-strong shortlist, half of which were Notting Hill Genesis staff.

Our submission featured some great success stories which are all down to the innovation, resilience and hard work our teams have put into their patches.

The judges commented that in a challenging area of housing, our strategy of investing in staff – through training, qualifications, different types of support and wellbeing – was impressive, leading to an empowered staff base who were then geared up to put the customer at the heart of everything they do.

Pippa Fleetwood-Read, Director of Home Ownership, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the whole team, who have all worked so hard this year to provide a proactive service tailored to the needs of our leaseholders. We are committed to improving further but this award shows what a great platform we have to build on.

We were up against some really strong competition so to come out on top was very exciting. I also want to congratulate Aine on her award, which is so well deserved.

Property management officer Aine Short, was selected as overall winner of the rising star award, which recognises someone who has been in the job for less than two years who demonstrates excellence and improvement in all areas of the job and shows potential to become a key player in the sector.

Aine was commended by the judges for her ownership and resilience, with comments that the way she had managed situations was a blue print that all property managers should look to emulate.

Aine said: “I was privileged to even be nominated for this award, so to actually win it came as a complete shock. Leasehold is challenging but rewarding. No two days are the same which is why it is a great department to work in.”

The awards were part of the National Leasehold Conference 2018 held at Olympia this week.
