City Park West
City Park West has delivered nearly 650 new homes to Chelmsford town centre, including shared ownership, market rent and affordable extra care units. The scheme has also restored three historic buildings, including The Anne Knight Building.

The former Anglia Ruskin University site was delivered in two phases, and features striking contemporary architecture and generous public spaces. The scheme also brought three historic buildings back into use. It was named Regeneration Scheme of the Year at the British Home Awards 2020, with Pollard Thomas Edwards Associates named Architect of the Year.

About City Park West, Chelmsford
A masterplan of transformation
In 2012 we were given the go ahead to work on the former Anglia Ruskin University site, and the first phase commenced in 2013. It delivered 219 new homes including a 65-bedroom extra care facility. Within this phase, two historic buildings were brought back into use within a series of new public spaces including shops, cafés and offices. Phase 1 was completed in late 2015.
The second phase delivered 426 new homes, 4,900 sqm of commercial floor space, new public open spaces and underground parking. Phase 2 was completed in 2019.
