Development partnerships

Notting Hill Genesis is a member of the G15 group of major London housing providers: we are currently the third-largest housing association in the capital and the fifth-largest in the UK. Our founder organisations Notting Hill Housing Trust and Genesis Housing Association were both formed in the 1960s in response to the capital’s housing crisis, so we have more than 50 years’ track record of buying, building, maintaining and managing homes.

We have an active and ambitious development strategy, with a forward programme of over 12,000 homes and plans to deliver 1,400 homes per year in the capital. We are on the Greater London Authority’s London Developer Panel Framework, LDP2, as well as Transport for London’s Property Partnership Framework and a number of local authority Preferred Partner frameworks. We have excellent working relationships with local authorities across London, with TfL and the GLA, and with other public and private sector bodies.

Many of our projects are delivered through partnerships. We work via development agreements and joint ventures with the public sector and other developers, or we buy sites and commission development via our specialist framework suppliers. We have an established supply chain of contractors on our framework, several of whom are also members of LDP2.

We also work successfully with other housebuilders and developers to help them deliver and manage their Section 106 requirements, which is the planning system’s mechanism for ensuring the provision of affordable housing on most new residential developments. We’re very experienced at integrating diverse tenures and helping to build a sense of community.

We look at all opportunities to increase our growth and help us meet our primary goal of providing affordable homes for London’s communities. We’re keen to work with others who share our ambitions and values.
