Planning approval granted for new discovery hub at Grahame Park

The approval means a new focal point will be built for the next stage of the Grahame Park regeneration.

An unused site in a prominent location of Grahame Park has been given planning permission for a new discovery hub. The hub will be a key focal point for the next stage of the regeneration and will provide a welcoming space for residents and visitors. Here they will be able to enjoy a coffee, discover more about the regeneration and learn about the new homes and facilities. The hub will also include workspace that will help establish, incubate, and grow new commercial and enterprise activities that could move into later phases of the regeneration, as well as encourage community activities.

The site, known as Plot 9, is located on the corner of Grahame Park Way and Bristol Avenue. We submitted our planning application for the hub in July 2022 following consultation with residents and the wider community. It is expected to be on site for up to 10 years and will include a lovely, landscaped area with mature trees.

The concept was developed with Studio Weave architects while interior designers Johnson Naylor have developed the interior concepts through a series of workshops. The next stage is to develop a detailed design that we can use to procure a contractor.  The estimated start on site date is January 2024 and we expect to open the hub in early 2025.
